Our bodies naturally produce hyaluronic acid, which is a substance that has the ability to retain water in our skin. As we age, our hyaluronic acid production slows dramatically and the skin loses its ability to retain moisture. In doing so, the dermis loses firmness and thickness, which makes us appear older and tired. Hyaluronic acid has the incredible ability to attract and store moisture in the skin, helping to make the skin look healthy and flexible.

Fortunately, and although we cannot replenish the same amount of hyaluronic acid we produce, there are options to help restore your skin’s need for hyaluronic acid so it is young.

The most effective solution is injected hyaluronic acid, not only to help reverse the signs of aging, but also to prevent the damage of the coming years.

What are hyaluronic acid fillers?

Hiaulronic acid fillers are a very popular option to reduce the appearance of facial lines that result from aging. The fillers we use in consultation, such as Juvederm and Restylane, are made with hyaluronic acid, as I told you earlier: a substance that is naturally found in the connective tissues of the body. Once injected, they have the ability to fill the skin that has lost volume or elasticity during the aging process.

Hyaluronic acid fillers fill wrinkles from the inside, making the skin look younger and rejuvenated. In addition, they help maintain or restore hydration, give volume to the skin and stimulate the growth of new collagen.

Are you a good candidate?

This type of filler is used for facial creases and wrinkles that appear over time. The most common areas that I deal with hyaluronic acid fillers are:

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Dewlap
  • Lines around the lips
  • Puppet lines, the lines that run vertically down the chin from your mouth
  • Cheeks
  • Eye bags

What are the benefits of hyaluronic acid fillers?

One of the biggest benefits of hyaluronic acid fillers is that because your body produces this component naturally there is no risk of allergic reaction. In addition, fillers based on hyaluronic acid, such as Juvederm or Restylane offer immediate results. Upon leaving my consultation, the patient already observes excellent results that improve with the passing of days.

One of the most attractive characteristics of hyaluronic acid fillers is that the results last from 6 to 12 months, depending on the degree of crosslinking of the product we use. In addition, fillers with hyaluronic acid are reversible. While my team and I have a very conservative approach to all my treatments and procedures, if for some reason you are not satisfied with the results, we have the ability to use a reversible injection to reverse the effects of dermal fillers.

What results to expect?

Filler injections with hyaluronic acid are done in consultation and the treatment usually lasts a few minutes, depending on whether we should work an area, several or the entire face.

Dermal fillers are minimally invasive, which means you can expect little or no downtime.

Hyaluronic acid fillers help to:

  • Hydrate
  • Give volume
  • Stimulate new collagen
  • Smooth fine lines

If you feel that your face has lost volume and elasticity, hyaluronic acid can be your great ally.

I get excellent results with hyaluronic acid fillers and I love the natural and youthful appearance it offers to my patients.
